Step by Step Setting Up AzuraVPN

You can set up a manual OpenVPN connection by using the OpenVPN GUI open-source application.

1. First, download the OpenVPN GUI application:
If using Windows 10, 8, 7 and Vista download here: https://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/openvpn-install-2.4.0-I602.exe
Otherwise, if using Windows XP, download here: http://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/openvpn-install-2.3.14-I002-i686.exe

2. Install the OpenVPN GUI application.
Open the installer file.

3. Once the application is installed, you now have to download the AzuraVPN server configuration files – using these files, the OpenVPN app knows how to connect to AzuraVPN servers. Download the configuration files here: http://member.azuravpn.com/downloads.php

4. The downloaded file will be a ZIP archive, extract that zip files and there will be 2 folders – each of the folder containing OpenVPN Configuration to one of the AzuraVPN servers, and which protocol (TCP or UDP) to use. Open the folder, and view all of the configuration files. You’ll see that there are many of files.

5. First open the acc.txt and edit it, fill it with your AzruaVPN credentials.

6. Now copy the configuration files, choose and copy which one do you want to use to this OpenVPN app directory: C:/Program Files/OpenVPN/config/

7. Now that the configuration files have been loaded into the proper folder for the application to detect them, let’s open the OpenVPN GUI app itself. Double-click the shortcut on your desktop.

8. Allow the application administrative permissions – it’s necessary for a VPN connection.

9. The application will start running in the system tray. It’s the area near your clock:

It might also be in the hidden system tray area:

10. Right click the application icon, hover over one of the servers, and click connect.

11. After a few seconds, the application will connect and the window will dissapear. The system tray icon will turn green, and indicate that you are connected when you hover over it.

And that’s it! You should be successfully connected. To disconnect, it’s the same as step 10, except you select disconnect.

1. Open terminal (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T).
2. Install OpenVPN client by entering:

sudo apt-get install openvpn

How to connect to OpenVPN via shell:

(if you are requested a password, enter the password which you have used when creating your account).
3. Navigate to OpenVPN configuration directory with command:

cd /etc/openvpn

4. Download OpenVPN configuration files with command

sudo wget https://nordvpn.com/api/files/zip

4.1. In case you will get `ERROR: The certificate of `nordvpn.com’ is not trusted.`, please install `ca-certificates` package with command:

apt-get install ca-certificates

5. If you do not have `unzip` package installed, download it by typing in:

sudo apt-get install unzip

6. Extract `config.zip` with command:

sudo unzip zip

7. Remove files which will be no longer used:

sudo rm zip

8. To see the list of all available servers, simply enter the

ls -al

command and it will print full configuration file list.
9. Choose a server which you would like to connect to.
10. Start OpenVPN with a chosen configuration by entering:

sudo openvpn [file name]

For example:

sudo openvpn de117.nordvpn.com.udp1194.ovpn

11. OpenVPN will ask you for credentials, so simply enter those in with your NordVPN account credentials.
12. You have successfully connected to VPN. To disconnect from the OpenVPN connection simply open terminal and press Ctrl + C on your keyboard.

1. Download Tunnelblick Here. Tunnelblick provides free, user-friendly control of OpenVPN client connections for Mac OS.

2. Download the Mac OS configuration files package Here.

3. To begin installation of OpenVPN for Mac OS, navigate to your Downloads folder and double click the Tunnelblick disc image (DMG) file you just downloaded. and Click ‘Open’

4. A dialogue box appears: Installation succeeded. Tunnelblick was successfully installed. Do you wish to launch Tunnelblick now? (An administrator username and password will be required so Tunnelblick can be secured.) Click Launch.

 

5. You may see a dialogue box: Tunnelblick needs to repair ownership/permissions of the program to secure it. Type your password to allow Tunnelblick to make changes. If so, enter your computer’s admininstrator username and password and click OK. Then exit Tunnelblick totally

6. Unzip the MAC OS configuration package you have downloaded. If you do not have any file archiving software on your machine you can use a software called “Keka” to extract it.

7. VERY IMPORTANT: Please make sure the Tunnelblick is not running in the background – the configurations would fail to be imported if Tunnelblick is running.

8. Select all Mac OS configuration files and double-click on one (An administrator username and password will be required). By doing this, you will add the servers to the Tunnelblick server list.

9. Find the Tunnelblick icon in your menu bar (top right). Click on the Tunnelblick icon to bring down the dropdown menu and you will see the list of our servers.

10. Select the server and click connect.

11. Enter you VPN credentials, mark the box Save in Keychain and click Ok.

12. You are connected to VPN. To disconnect click on the Tunnelblick icon in your menu bar and select Disconnect from the drop down menu.

Please note that steps 1-2 are suggested to be performed on your computer.

2. Once you have downloaded the configuration file archive, you can extract them on your PC, and e-mail them to yourself. If you don’t have a PC nearby, you can also use a free archive manager from the App store to extract the files on your iOS device itself.

3. Go to the App store with your iPad/iPhone.

4. Tap on Search.

5. Enter openvpn connect in the search bar.

6. Tap on Free button.

7. Tap on Install.

8. Sign in to iTunes store with your account and tap OK.

9. Once it has finished installing, go to your Mail app.

10. Tap on one of the attached configuration files that you have sent to yourself.

11. Select Open in OpenVPN.

12. Tap on the green plus button. NOTE: To add more servers you need to perform steps 10-12 with other configuration files as well.

13. Enter your AzuraVPN credentials and mark the password to be saved in keychain.

14. Tap on the button to connect to VPN.

15. You have successfully connected.

16. To change a server tap on the External certificate profile.

17. Select a server from the list by tapping on it.

18. To disconnect tap on the same button as to connect.

1. Download a full .ovpn configuration package HERE which later you need to unzip.

2. Unzip the configuration files you’ve downloaded, place it anywehere you want (they will be downloaded, unzipped to the downloads folder by default)

3. Go to the Google Play App store.

4. Tap on the search button in the App store.

5. Search for the app called OpenVPN Connect.

6. Install the application into your device.

7. Accept to the pop-out terms.

8. Open the application.

9. Tap on the menu button on the top-right screen in the application.

10. Tap on Import in the dropdown.

11. Choose Import profile from SD card and find the downloaded configuration files (they will be downloaded to the downloads folder by default).

12. Tap on one of the configuration file and import it.

13. Accept the profile.

14. Perform steps 9 to 13 and add other server configurations into the app.

15. Select a server by tapping on the box with a dropdown menu and choosing one server.

16. Enter your AzuraVPN account credentials.

17. Tap on Connect.

18. Continue to connect without a certificate.

19. You have successfully connected.

20. To disconnect from the server tap on Disconnect button.

+ Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10

You can set up a manual OpenVPN connection by using the OpenVPN GUI open-source application.

10. Right click the application icon, hover over one of the servers, and click connect.

11. After a few seconds, the application will connect and the window will dissapear. The system tray icon will turn green, and indicate that you are connected when you hover over it.

And that’s it! You should be successfully connected. To disconnect, it’s the same as step 10, except you select disconnect.

+ Linux

1. Open terminal (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T).
2. Install OpenVPN client by entering:

sudo apt-get install openvpn

How to connect to OpenVPN via shell:

(if you are requested a password, enter the password which you have used when creating your account).
3. Navigate to OpenVPN configuration directory with command:

cd /etc/openvpn

4. Download OpenVPN configuration files with command

sudo wget https://nordvpn.com/api/files/zip

4.1. In case you will get `ERROR: The certificate of `nordvpn.com’ is not trusted.`, please install `ca-certificates` package with command:

apt-get install ca-certificates

5. If you do not have `unzip` package installed, download it by typing in:

sudo apt-get install unzip

6. Extract `config.zip` with command:

sudo unzip zip

7. Remove files which will be no longer used:

sudo rm zip

8. To see the list of all available servers, simply enter the

ls -al

command and it will print full configuration file list.
9. Choose a server which you would like to connect to.
10. Start OpenVPN with a chosen configuration by entering:

sudo openvpn [file name]

For example:

sudo openvpn de117.nordvpn.com.udp1194.ovpn

11. OpenVPN will ask you for credentials, so simply enter those in with your NordVPN account credentials.
12. You have successfully connected to VPN. To disconnect from the OpenVPN connection simply open terminal and press Ctrl + C on your keyboard.

+ MacOS

1. Download Tunnelblick Here. Tunnelblick provides free, user-friendly control of OpenVPN client connections for Mac OS.

2. Download the Mac OS configuration files package Here.

3. To begin installation of OpenVPN for Mac OS, navigate to your Downloads folder and double click the Tunnelblick disc image (DMG) file you just downloaded. and Click ‘Open’
